Our Boot Camp is Committed to Helping Our Community

At Buns of Steel, we’re more than just a boot camp. We are a community of success. We have the best boot campers. Our boot campers regularly participate in events aimed at bettering our community and the world we live in. Some of those events are listed below

Dec. 2009 Healthy Food Drive For St. John’s
Unsatisfied with the fundraising efforts of our community and the quality of the food donated, our boot camp decided to conduct our own healthier food drive. Our boot camp raised over 500 pounds of healthy food over the holiday season to help feed families in the Danforth area. The mission we helped out was St. John’s (this is their website), which provides meals, support and a wide range of programs to marginalized and vulnerable individuals, in a community setting. They also operate a wholesale bakery and thrift shop to provide dignity, work experience and training for men and women, many of whom are homeless or on social assistance.

They rely upon the generosity of their caring supporters to provide these vital services. There are so many ways you can give to St. John the Compassionate Mission. To learn more visit their website.

Feb. 2010 Survive 4 Haiti Boot Camp Marathon

Our boot camp decided to try and raise funds to help with the devastation in Haiti. While we cannot imagine what it’s like to rebuild after such devastation, we can do something about it. Surviving an extended 3 hour boot camp, our brave participants helped raise over $4000 to help the victims of the Earthquake. Done in conjunction with UNICEF, our boot campers once again were able to mobilize themselves for a great cause!
